February NEWS!

Hey folks!

January got the year off to a great start!  Some great goals were set and we are off to a wonderful, exciting year ahead of us!

I want to congratulate those students that captured the leading roles in Grease!  You guys rock!  Also, a HUGE congrats to those students that made the cut into the Arizona Regional Choir!  How exciting! We are making our mark on the world!  You guys are working hard and making me look good!

I am currently the Musical Director for "She Loves Me" at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse in Ogden, UT. It's a small cast, and a really fun show!  I have had the opportunity to play the part of Ilona Ritter THREE times!  That is how much fun it is!  Auditions are February 15th from 9-12 for those that would like to give it a shot!

Don't forget that February payment is due BY THE 1st!!!  A late fee of $5 will be added to payments that I receive after the 5th!  Don't let this be you..... (tisk, tisk.)




Finally, I hope that you all have a VERY HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!  I will be accepting chocolate from anyone that feels the need to bring me some... just sayin.

5th Week- December

What a crazy month it has been!  First of all...

CONGRATS to the Students that made the Arizona All-State Choirs! 5 students for each vocal part- STATE WIDE!!  Yup... 6 of those were YOU GUYS!!!!  BOO YA!

ALSO.. let us NOT forget to congratulate the winners of the UPSCALE SINGERS VOCAL SCHOLARSHIP!!  Again.... 12 spots available... 5 went to you guys!  Do you feel like we are taking over the world??  ;)

And now, for the boring stuff.

NOVEMBER payment is DUE!!!

Don't forget, December payment will only be for THREE weeks, NOT four.  I am using the "5th week" in Oct/Nov as a make up week for my Utah trip at the end of October. Therefore, it will NOT be used for the missing December lesson.

Attention EVERYONE!

I'm so excited to announce that starting in November, I will have FIVE openings available.  This is HUGE since I normally only have a waiting list! Slots are at a first come, first serve basis!  Tell your friends!  Remember, if they mention your name when they sign up, YOU get a FREE LESSON that is equal to theirs!  So, if they sign up for an hour slot, YOU get a FREE hour lesson!  

First lesson is free for all new students!

ONLINE LESSONS?!?! Why YES!

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!

I had the opportunity to attend a webinar from one of the instructors on the advantages of learning (and teaching) music online with the use of certain programs and tools. SO COOL!

Although I already teach some of my old students online, I am now opening up ALL of my spots to online as well. Using the techniques and tools learned to help get the best quality, I am really excited for this! Students can choose to have lessons in person OR online. If they are unable to come, they can have their lesson online instead. No more missing lessons because they were forgotten. We can just hop online instead and not waste time travelling to lessons. No more having to lose students when they graduate and move away to college!

Teaching online has been awesome for the few students that I have been teaching for almost 3 years, and now, I understand more about HOW to get the most out of the lesson.

Online vocal lessons are now available to anyone interested in doing them! I am completely amazed at how far technology has come!

STUDENTS:

 I need to go out of town last minute.  I will be leaving after I finish the Friday students this week and will return the evening of the 29th.  I have adjusted my schedule to allow make ups for missed lessons, or you may choose to take a credit for August.  Please contact me ASAP to make arrangements.

Lessons next week and Make-Up reminder.

STUDENTS: As we all make our plans for summer, there are an increasingly number of students that are giving me last minute notices for their vacations. I am TOTALLY willing to reschedule lessons for vacations, camps, etc, as long as the 3 hours notice is given. Please refer to the lesson policy about cancelling lessons for ANY reason. Do not assume that because you are not coming to lessons that you do not have to pay for them. Unless previously discussed with me, lessons are made-up or I will offer a credit if I cannot get the make ups in. As usual, I offer a credit or a make up for lessons that I need to cancel (which was basically Mon, Tues, Wed. this week.)

Also, just a reminder that NEXT WEEK, July 1-6 is an extra week, and there will not be regular lessons, only the make-up lessons that I have scheduled.
